Blue and Gold Ceremony

The Senior Webelos partook in the Arrow of Light ceremony, the most significant ceremony in their careers as cub scouts. The Arrow of Light is the highest honor a cub scout may receive, and the only cub scout badge that may be worn as a boy scout. The scouts had all their hard work acknowledged by their family, friends and leaders as they graduated to the rank of boy scouts. Below are the pictures of the ceremony. Congratulations to the Senior Webelos on the advancement!

Hopefully this will help everyone know who's who within the pack and give you a better sense of what dens constitutes our pack. Keep in mind the Cubmaster role filled by Steve Lentz will be vacated by the end of February, and the Treasurer role currently filled by Cindy Martin needs to be filled in also. Summer Camp Announcement

Camp Lassen, the location of the scouts summer camp, needs an idea about the approximate number of adults and scouts that plan to attend. This helps in the planning so that all the scouts and adults can be placed in a camp site that will fit the entire group. The camp dates will either be July 20th to the 23rd or July 23rd to the 26th. Cost is $165 per scout and $140 per adult.

Information and actions needed:

  1. Those that plan to attend (scout and/or adult) summer camp, please notify Karyn.
  2. A $50 deposit for those who plan to attend. Please provide the deposit no later than Feb. 25th. Full payment will be due on May 1st.
  3. Those that can help organize and plan, please notify Karyn. Two contacts are needed on the camp reservation request.
This is a fun and memorable event for the scout. There will be water sports, BB gunplay, archery, climbing, hiking, and sitting around the campfire. Included in the package are three meals plus snacks. For more information please either call Karyn at 354-0791 or visit the camp website at www.gec.bsa.org/lassen.

Respond ASAP so the reservation form can be mailed in. Please also include preferences between the two dates mentioned above.

Pinewood Derby Race

It was standing room only for the Pinewood Derby Race at the RMA Building. There were around three dozen cars participating, but with the enthusiasm by all who attended, one would have thought that everyone had an entry. All Scouts went home with the Pinewood Derby patch. Congratulations to all the winners, and to all the scouts and parents that participated in the event.

Click the pictures below for a larger view.

Trophies went to the top three of each race after multiple heats, top three cars overall, and top three "Best in Show". If there are any pictures you'd like to see posted, please email to Duc at ductruong@gmail.com, or email me to arrange an alternate way to send me the pictures.
